放置されている日本人墓地とアンガウル州旗
自民党青年局がパラオを訪ねたら白い砂浜でバーベキューなどしてはいけない。そんな事は早く直行便を就航させて、プライベートで、家族と一緒に行ってやることだ。
さて、自民党青年局のパラオ訪問が観光旅行にならないような提案が後２つある。
米軍のレーダー基地と中国マフィアのカジノリゾートを巡るアンガウル州の開発問題だ。
パラオに米軍レーダー基地が設置されつつあることは自民党青年局は理解しているであろうか？同じ場所、アンガウル州には以前からカジノリゾート開発の話があったが、数年前に中国の三合会に99年の土地リースがされたとの報道があった。
最近米軍の建設工事に対し、環境アセスメント（破壊）や請負会社についてアンガウル州政府がパラオ政府、米国政府、米国請負業者、パラオ環境保護委員会（EQPB）に対して訴訟を起こした。

この訴訟に関し、伝統的首長グループからはアンガウル島民は事前に知らされていないし、米軍の開発は島に利益をもたらすと反対の署名をしている。パラオ憲法では伝統的首長の役割が明記されている。
そして、8月2日パラオ裁判所が、アンガウル州政府による一時的な禁止命令の要求を拒否する命令を発行。

ポイントは２つある。米軍レーダー基地は日本を含む西太平洋、インド太平洋全体の安全保障も問題であり日米同盟が強化されつつある日本の問題でる。パラオ政府だけでなく現地米軍、米国政府との意見交換は必須だ。
もう一点はアンガウルと日本の歴史的関係である。日本統治時代にはリン鉱石開発がされ、日本人の墓が荒れ果てた状態で放置されている。アンガウル住民はコロールにもいるはずだから自民党青年局のメンバーは意見を聞く機会を持ったらどうであろうか？

Then, on 2 August, the Palau Court issued an order denying the Angaur State Government's request for a temporary restraining order.
There are two key points.
The US radar base is also a security issue for the entire Western Pacific and Indo-Pacific region, including Japan, and is a problem for Japan, where the Japan-US alliance is being strengthened. It is essential to exchange views not only with the Palau Government, but also with the local US military and the US Government.
The other point is the historical relationship between Angaur and Japan. During the Japanese occupation, phosphate exploitation was carried out and Japanese graves were left in a state of disrepair. The LDP Youth Division members should have the opportunity to listen to the opinions of the Angaur people, as there must be some of them in Koror.
