The significance of publishing an article in an international journal is that it deepens and broadens the discussion of the article's topic. Mr Taro Mori from Chuuk State, Federated States of Micronesia, shared a valuable story with us. With his permission, the story is copied here.

My name Taro Mori and I am from Chuuk.
I want to thank you for your work with PEASCESAT. I am blessed to have had the opportunity to work with the PEACESAT family around 2007 until the decommissioning of the satellite. That experience is a big reason I am where I am today. If you don't mind I want to share with you a bit of my story. I apologize for my english grammer.
In 2005, I was in Chuuk volunteering as a teacher at Xavier High School. At that time PREL had a program looking for teachers in school through out the Pacific, interested to work with PREL HQ in Hawaii in their IT division hoping to build capacity and experience. The school sent me to the program for a year. Part of that year was me supporting PEACESAT Hawaii. I worked with great people, Ryan Hirae, Bruce Best and Christina.
After completing the program I came back to Chuuk. Still volunteering and also managing the PEACESAT terminal. An eye opening experience happened to me when our health department used the Telehealth equipment to connect with Doctors in Shriner's Hospital in Hawaii. These were our dial-up days so video conferencing was amazing to me. One day, it was a bad weather day. A young boy came in with his mother soaked from the rain, most likely came on a boat from another island. This young boy needed help with his feet as he couldn't walk properly. The doctors on the other side of the Pacific assessed him through video conferencing. He was recommended to be referred to Shriners for surgery. Some months later he came back walking better.
2010, I started a small IT shop. Today we have installed +150 vsat terminals in our rural areas.
As you may know, Chuuk Islands are scattered. My hope is that one day, no kid has to ride a boat, get soaked in rain to have access to health services. Your work opened me a path to do this.

プログラム終了後、私はチュークに戻った。ボランティア活動を続けながら、PEACESATの端末も管理しています。 目を見開かされた経験は、私たちの保健部門がテレヘルスの機器を使ってハワイのシュライナー病院の医師と接続したときに起こりました。 当時はダイヤルアップの時代でしたから、ビデオ会議は私にとって驚きでした。 ある日、天気が悪かった。 雨でずぶ濡れになった少年と母親が、おそらく他の島から船でやってきたのだろう。 この少年はまともに歩くことができず、足の治療を必要としていた。 太平洋の反対側にいる医師たちは、ビデオ会議を通して彼を診断した。 彼はシュライナーズでの手術を勧められました。 数ヵ月後、彼はよく歩けるようになって戻ってきた。
2010年、私は小さなITショップを始めた。 今日、私たちは地方に150台以上のVSAT端末を設置しました。
ご存知のように、チューク諸島は点在しています。 私の願いは、いつの日か、子どもたちが医療サービスを受けるためにボートに乗ったり、雨に濡れたりする必要がなくなることです。 あなたの仕事は、そのための道を開いてくれました。
