Throughout my 8 days visit to Australia this month I recognized how “Trust” is easily to broken within a single blink while “Trust” building takes much time and effort.

On my first day, Dr Tsamenyi of ANCORS, Wollongong, spent more than 10 hours with me to discuss and exchange opinions on the new order of maritime security. In Canberra I spent more than 10 hours with government staff. I really appreciate their commitment and I learnt how the trust building will start.

At the same time I also have to deal with “distrust building” on the Micronesia sea surveillance project, a project that the Sasakawa Peace Foundation took initiative to develop along with three Micronesian countries plus Australia and the US. I learnt how easy it is to collapse within a blink Trust that took 20 years to develop.

In the meetings in Australia I found that there is a lot of miscommunication and misunderstanding amongst the stakeholders.

As such I decided to start looping all stakeholders so as to to share information through my email and blog.
