引き続き、パラオの地元紙Island Timesから。

 

在フィリプンのベトナム大使館から2名の高官がパラオを公式訪問。

パラオ側はベル法務大臣が参加。

ベトナムの違法操業に関する話し合いが行われた。

現在ベトナムとパラオは公式な外交関係がなく、将来に向け建設的な関係構築も協議された。

ベトナム代表はパラオ大統領府と保健省とも協議。ベトナムから医師、看護師をパラオに派遣する事も協議された。

 

 

ベトナム違法漁船を含む海上での爆破し、世界のニュースの乗せた効果があったようだ。

当初、水産庁の取締船が昨年パラオEEZに入りあっという間に何十とある(何百か)違法漁船を発見した。その後日本財団、豪州が供与する監視艇でパラオ海洋警察によって拿捕したものの、漁船の取り調べは難航。ベトナム語はわからない、ベトナム政府は無視。小国パラオ政府は大きな負担を抱える結果となった。

Vietnamese officials visit

Two top officials from the Vietnamese Embassy in the Philippines paid a visit to Palau last week to discuss issues of mutual interests with national government officials here.

The Vietnamese delegation was led by Consul Cang Hoang Nghia. Among the Palau officials they met were Vice President Antonio Bells, officials from the Office of the President and the Ministry of Health.

The issue of illegal fishing by Vietnamese fishermen and entry of illegal fishing boats into Palau was discussed. No specific outcomes for this issue was mentioned but the information was expected to be

relayed the visiting officials to their country.

According to a source, the Vietnamese delegation also discussed the possibility of ties between Vietnam and Palau in different areas, including medical cooperation.

The source said that during meetings between MOH officials and the Vietnamese delegation, the possibility of sending Vietnamese volunteer doctors or nurses to this island nation was discussed.

“They want a closer and more positive relationship between the two countries,” he stated.

The Vietnamese delegation departed for the Philippines on Friday, August 21, 2015.

Vietnam and Palau don’t have formal diplomatic relations, but Vietnamese officials have attended Palau’s Independence Day celebrations in the past. Some Palauan officials have also visited Vietnam, which has one of the fastest-growing economies in Asia.
