Palau one maritime law enforcement officer look after 24,000km2.
Japan one coast guard personnel look after 350 km2
US one coast guard personnel look after 263 km2
Japan has 45,000 Marine Defence Force + others. US has 650,000 Navy and Marines, so actual cover area per person for EEZ become much smaller than this number. Palau just 25.
Even Palau increased its number of marine police - say 100, still one maritime law enforcement officer need to look after 17 times of what Japan coast guard does.
Conclusion:
Palau needs 2000 marine law enforcement officers! That is 10% of their population.
Palau need more strategic sea power regime with US-Japan-Aust.
