パラオの政治が、水面下で激動している。

島社会の政治はなめたらアカン！

二人か三人、パラオのの大統領は暗殺されている。

それほど島の政治は命がけなのだ。

まずは検察と司法大臣兼副大統領のニュース。

検察がベルス法務大臣を起訴したが、法務大臣側の弁護士が法に何も違反していないと反論し、検察が引っ込めた、という理解しがたい話。検察が起訴した理由がベルス法務大臣が個人の銀行口座情報を銀行に照会した、という理由。

何か見られて困るお金のやり取りが、検察側にあったのであろうか？

ちなみにこの記事にあるAssociate Justice Ashby Pate（米国人）は突然辞表を出しちょっと話題になっている。

On January 11, 2016, the Republic of Palau, through the Office of the Interim Special Prosecutor (ISP), filed a motion to dismiss the above case. As grounds for the motion, the ISP indicated that, even though it maintained its position that the Minister of Justice and Vice President Antonio Bells has not been granted the power to subpoena private banking records (his requests for which formed the basis of the criminal charges against him. The ISP further indicated that it is the sincere hope of the Office of the Special Prosecutor that all public officials will work together with the agencies dedicated to enforcing the rule of law in the Republic of Palau. The court echoes with this sentiment and commends the ISP and Vice President Bells for working to this resolution. For above criminal case is dismissed with prejudice.
